Thomas, together with Vitor Cardoso, Isabella Carucci and Paolo Pani from Lisbon, showed that Kerr black holes in scalar-tensor can exhibit two types of interesting behaviour once surounded by matter: they can be force to develop scalar hair, or they may suffer from superradiance-driven instabilities.
